Caregiver Type is not configurable, but Client Type is.

From a workflow perpective, right now the system is asymmetric:

  • Client Type
    • Fully configurable in Settings → Client → DDM
    • Supports multi-select
    • Used across scheduling, time tracking, and reports
  • Caregiver Type
    • Built-in field
    • Not in DDM
    • Not used for matching or reporting

There isn’t currently a parallel “Caregiver Type” field that agencies can fully control like Client Type. There’s no evidence in the system that Caregiver Type is used anywhere else.

  • It’s stored in the caregiver’s Profile Summary / General Information as part of their basic details.
  • It’s not a DDM field, so it isn’t reused across other configurable areas.
  • It’s not used for scheduling or matching - that’s driven by caregiver skills and client attributes.
  • It also doesn’t appear in caregiver reports (like HR, hours, skills, etc.), which use fields like skills, role, status, etc.

So in practice:

  • Used for: internal classification on the caregiver profile, but can't be configured.
  • Not used for: scheduling, matching, reporting, or filtering

It is a standalone label field, not a system-driving one.

This really should be a configurable field like the Client Type.
